Anyone who meets our Creative Director Samantha can tell that this girl knows how to live. Her zest for life, her ‘va va-voom’, is only matched by her unquestionable passion for perfection. Samantha started as a classical singer, but Jazz soon stole her heart, and with it, she discovered a passion for design, growing fascinated to see how it made people feel. The theatrical elements of Samantha’s past are very much present in her designs, creating unique and memorable settings.

“My mother’s side are Anglo-Indian and I spent my childhood looking through romantic photos and hearing stories of the family Jute business in Calcutta, the tennis club where my grandparents met and stories of my mother’s nursery visits on the back of an Elephant! All of this has heavily influenced my style and I am proud to share my heritage – making spaces interesting, exciting and fabulous … one palm at a time!”

Our Story
In 2006, armed with nothing but a dream, female intuition and a screwdriver, our Creative Director Samantha got to work building a small creperie near the banks of the River Wandle in South West London. From this quaint riverside eatery, she learned the ways of the hospitality sector, hosting weddings, parties and live jazz nights.
In the following years, she gained valuable skills and experience running the restaurant and hosting weddings, parties and live jazz nights. So opening an events company was a natural and exciting progression for Samantha… Only this time, she owned an electric drill!
Deco Noir launched as a mobile bar company back in 2014, but when festival guests kept mistaking our bars and lounges for the VIP area, we quickly grew into an event styling and hire business. The festivals took note and started hiring us to dress their hospitality areas. Each year we added new bespoke bars, and it wasn’t long before we were approached by a number of high-profile brands, such as Fever-Tree and Peroni, to provide their VIP activation bars. Today, Deco Noir combines our exquisitely-unique bars and our styling talents to create memorable event spaces for festivals, private or corporate events.

“I genuinely love to make people happy – that’s a massive part of my personality. Early on in ‘Deco World’ I loved watching people’s faces light up when they entered our lounges at festivals and I realised that THIS was why I loved design. Ever since, I’ve kept the passion and ethos of Deco Noir strong, using designs to make people feel something – happy, excited, relaxed, surprised… we strive to touch deeper than just the aesthetics and that’s what I think sets us apart.”
